Reads & Reds-Spring 2020

About The Event
San Antonio Leaders & Teachers is hosting a four session book study of Educated: A Memoir
By: Tara Westover. As we read this book,we will unpack our own schooling and our educational journey . Specifically, how it gives us perspective to the work that we do.
"Educated is an account of the struggle for self-invention. It is a tale of fierce family loyalty and of the grief that comes with severing the closest of ties. With the acute insight that distinguishes all great writers, Westover has crafted a universal coming-of-age story that gets to the heart of what an education is and what it offers: the perspective to see one's life through new eyes and the will to change it."
Reads & Reds will be faciliated by Jennifer Maestas, Veronica Valdovinos, and Jennifer Rosas, co-founders of SALT, San Antonio's professional network for educators.
This book study, sponsored by City Education Partners, will meet 5:30-7:30pm on Wednesdays-February 19th, March 18th, April 15th, and May 20th at 250 E Grayson. Books will be distributed at the first session.
We ask that you commit to all four sessions if you would like to participate. Space is limited so please RSVP to reserve your spot. Reads & Reds is FREE to SALT members and $45 for non-members (includes book and dinner/drinks at each session).
